The Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is currently at Hollywood Casino Columbus and will culminate late next week with a $1,650 buy-in, $500,000 GTD Main Event.
This is a blinds schedule and playoff bracket for an 8-player single elimination heads-up poker tournament. This means that a player is eliminated from the tournament after only one loss. This Create-a-Blind will allow you to enter the name of each player for each round of play, the poker chip colors and values, the blinds, and three boxes.
That tournament, which will be live reported by PokerNews, will feature three starting flights beginning with Day 1a at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Flights 1b and 1c will take place at Noon local time on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 respectively, and the survivors from all three flights will return for Day 2 action at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 29. Then, on Monday, April 29, the final table will play out starting at Noon.
'Ohio has a great poker scene and we're anticipating a big turnout.'
Speaking of that final table, it will not only be live streamed but also filmed for television. This is notable as the state of Ohio has never held a nationally televised poker tournament. That will change thanks to the HPT, which has awarded more than $100 million to poker enthusiasts over 15 seasons.
'We have been looking forward to the Hollywood Columbus event for quite some time,' said HPT marketing manager Korey Stewart. 'There has been quite a bit of chatter about the event within the poker community since we announced it a few months back. Ohio has a great poker scene and we're anticipating a big turnout.'
In addition to the Main Event, which players can qualify for as little as $90 via HPT's popular satellite system, there are several side events in variants such as 7-Game Mix, Pot-Limit Omaha, and a Tag Team event.
The stop actually started this weekend with a $350 buy-in, $100K GTD Opening Monster Stack, a tournament that attracted 755 entries and crushed its guarantee by creating a $226,500 prize pool. The winner of that tournament is slated to take home $48,666.

The Heartland Poker Tour was established in 2005 by two long-time friends, Todd Anderson and Greg Lang. These two producers worked together to create a regional poker tournament series with a strong television presence. Heartland Poker Tour events have been viewed on television in over 50 million households across the country, with more viewers tuning in for every event.
Anderson and Lang pride themselves on bringing a younger, more energetic voice to the poker community. They believe their new television show is 'part drama, part reality television.' The announcers are very colorful, and make sure that there is never a dull moment, even when the poker action is slow.
Andersan and Lang have clearly stated their three goals for the Heartland Poker Tour:
The Heartland Poker Tour has a number of upcoming events that are sure to be a hit among local amateurs and professionals. Some of these events include series at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, the Downstream Casino Resort in Quapaw, Oklahoma, the Shooting Star Casino in Minnesota, and the Golden Gates Casino in Colorado.
Previously completed tournament series have been hosted at the TurningStone Resort Casino, the Greektown Casino, the Island Resort and Casino, the Majestic Star Casinos, the Golden Gates Casino, the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel, and the Grand Series at Grand Casino Mille Lacs.
The Heartland Poker League is the very first National Poker League for poker players. Casinos that participate in this league host weekly tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $50-$100, and the tournament results are tracked at HeartlandPokerTour.com. Players who participate in the league earn player points and are eligible to win prizes.
Each season of the Heartland Poker League lasts fourteen weeks, and there are three seasons per year: winter, spring and fall. Visit their website today to discover more about this exciting league and the prizes offered.
If you wish to play in a Heartland Poker Tour event, the best way may be to visit the Heartland Poker Tour website and check out the Ride/Room Share section. Here you can find players who wish to share a ride to the tournament, or even split a hotel room at the casino. This makes it much easier to participate in HPT events.
The Heartland Poker Tour offers some of the best local poker tournament series around. Whether you are a beginner or experienced poker player, the HPT has an event for you.
