Apache Casino Hotel has also added top-of-the-line cleaning and sanitizing equipment to enhance our already unique cleaning processes and team member sanitizing duties. We have additional Air Quality Controls with 100% outside fresh air supplies and Electrostatic Fogging machines using the newest enhanced COVID killing methods that are food-grade safe and EPA certified for all consumers.
The casino, hotel and restaurants undergo continuous cleaning which helps maintain the great reputation Apache Casino Hotel has for being the cleanest, friendliest casino in Oklahoma.
Health and safety remain our top priority. Many new health and safety measures have been implemented to keep our guests, team members and community, safe upon our reopening.
Some of these measure include:
- The property will be open in phases, with some gaming machines, food outlets and other amenities, not open in the initial phase. Food outlets will open with limited menus and seating.
- Points of entry will be limited. Only the two front entrances for guests.
- The property will be 100% smoke-free, with no smoking or vaping allowed inside, until an undecided future date.
- All team members and guests will be required to wear a face covering that covers both the nose and mouth. We strongly encourage you to bring you own face covering. A limited number of masks will be available for purchase.
- All team members and guests will be required to have a non-invasive temperature check at the door and be asked some brief health screening questions. Anyone who states that they feel ill or has a temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will not be allowed inside.
- All guests will be requested to briefly lower their face coverings for age and identification purposes. Further proof of identification may be required by providing a physical ID card upon request.
- Guests will need to practice 6-foot social distancing from other guests not in their group, while standing in lines and moving around the property.
- Occupancy levels will be reduced to maintain enough social distancing.
- There will be frequent deep cleaning and sanitizing of all public spaces with an emphasis on frequently touched surfaces.
- Plexiglass barriers have been installed throughout the property.
- Signage on health and safety, sanitation and social distancing are located across the property and frequent overhead announcement will be made on these subjects.
- Slot machines, casino chairs, restaurant tables, bar chairs, and other physical layout changes have been made to provide as much distancing as possible between guests.
- In most cases, every other slot machine will not be available for play or to sit at, except where safety barriers are in place. Slot machines will be routinely cleaned and sanitized and have visible logs of cleaning schedules.
- Live table games will be limited to 2 or 3 players per table until new divider barriers are in place. Chips and table touch points will be routinely cleaned and sanitized.
- 4-person maximum occupancy on elevators.
- The pool area, business center and fitness room will remain closed.
- Valet services will remain suspended until further notice.
- All team members have had health and sanitation training.
Note: these protocols are based on the May 21, 2020 reopening date and are subject to change, based on reopening phases and evolving health and safety guidelines.
Apache Casino Hotel has a state of the art HVAC management system specifically designed to condition 100% outside air even in the extreme heat of Oklahoma. We do not recirculate the casino air supply. Fresh outside air is filtered and passes through an electrically charged CosaTron air management system that grabs other molecules in the air so they can be carried out through our exhaust system. In addition we have been running HEPA filters in all of our entry doors and around the casino floor since we closed in March.

MESCALERO, N.M. (AP) — A federal judge ruled last week against the Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma that has long sought to operate a casino in New Mexico.
In an opinion, U.S. District Court Judge Ellen S. Huvelle upheld a decision by the National Indian Gaming Commission that the Fort Sill Apache was not eligible to game in New Mexico, the Deming Headlight reports.
Fort Sill is a federally recognized tribe located in Oklahoma that has land at Akela Flats, located 18 miles (28.97 kilometers) east of Deming off of Interstate 10.
Fort Sill tried to open a small casino on the land in 2008 after it was donated to the tribe in the 1990s. The casino was shut down quickly by the National Indian Gaming Commission and former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson ordered a state police blockade at the location where the Apache Homelands operates a diner, convenience store, and smoke shop.
The National Indian Gaming Commission determined that Fort Sill did not qualify under any of the exceptions to the general prohibition against tribes gaming on lands acquired after 1988 in the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act that was enacted by Congress.
After many years of arguing that they should be able to game at Akela Flats, Fort Sill took the commission to court. But Huvelle dismissed each argument made by Fort Sill.

The Mescalero Apache Tribe of New Mexico praised the judge’s decision.
“We have a shared history as Chiricahua Apache, but they chose to stay in Oklahoma and lost their connection to New Mexico,” Mescalero Apache President Gabe Aguila said. “IGRA was not intended to allow tribes like Fort Sill to game hundreds of miles away. Fort Sill promised Mescalero they would not game here.”
The Chiricahua Apache were taken as prisoners of war in 1886. In 1913, the Chiricahua were given a choice: stay in Oklahoma or return to their homelands. The clear majority returned to New Mexico to live on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation and became a part of the Mescalero Apache Tribe. The Chiricahua that remained in Oklahoma became the Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma.
